Stephen William Hawking is theoretical physicist and cosmologist. He was born on 8 January 1942 in Oxford, England. He has motor neurone disease. Namely, his disease is neurological disorders that selectively affect motor neurones, the cells that control voluntary muscle activity including speaking, walking, breathing, swallowing and general movement of the body.
But he had never in a situation such hopelessness. He always tried to lead as normal life as possible. Ordinarily, he was shocked to discover this disease at first. But he wasn't defeated. He always struggled. Actually, his disease was an incurable disease, that was likely to kill him in a few years. It made him shocked. But something happened. He told: ' I had seen a boy I vaguely knew die of leukaemie ( it is a cancer of the blood or bone morrow characterized by an abnormal increase of blood cells. ) , in the bed opposite me. It hadn't been a pretty sight. Clearly there were people who were worse off than me. At least my condition didn't make me feel sick. Whenever I feel inclined to be sorry for myself, I remember that boy.
Before this disease, he had been very bored with life. But after the diognose of the disease, he dreamed that he was going to be executed. But he wasn't. His aspect to life changed. He realized that there were a lot of worthwhile things to do.
Actually, his life ultimately changed when he engaged to Jane Wilde. This engagement gave him something to live for.
His extraordinary intelligence showed that whatever disability you have, you can manage everything. He have a very attractive family, and is successful in his work. He has worked on the basic laws which govern the universe. He showed that Einstein's General Theory of Relativity implied space and time would have a beginning in the Bing Bang and an end in black holes. He also discovered that black holes should not be completely black. There are countless publications of Hawking. He has twelve honorary degrees. He is the recipent of many awards, medals, and prizes.
As a result, he didn't abandon his work. He wasn't defeated by disease. He didn't shame for his disorder. He enlivened his life in spite of his disability. He struggled and his achievement made everybody courageous and ambitious.
